What it is

IV therapy means receiving fluids, vitamins or minerals through a small intravenous line instead of by mouth. The mix is chosen after an evaluation.

It can feel like a way to support hydration and general wellness. It is not a treatment for hair loss and we do not present it as one.

Who it's for

Adults who want to talk through hydration or nutrient support as part of overall wellness. A review of medical history comes first, and not everyone is a suitable candidate.

What an IV therapy visit involves

After an evaluation, a small catheter is placed in a vein, usually in the arm, and a fluid mixture runs through it while you sit comfortably. Depending on the plan, it can include fluids and selected vitamins or minerals.

A session takes place in a calm setting and the team will tell you how long to allow. You can usually resume normal activity afterwards, although some people feel mild tenderness at the site.

Why an evaluation comes first

Not everyone is a suitable candidate. Kidney or heart conditions, certain medications and allergies can all affect whether an infusion is appropriate. A clinician reviews your history before recommending anything, and may decline to proceed.

The aim is to match the plan to your health and goals rather than offering a standard menu.

What we do and do not claim

IV therapy is offered here as a wellness service. We do not present it as a treatment for hair loss, and we do not promise energy, immunity or appearance benefits. Many people use it to support hydration or when they have been advised to correct a specific deficiency.

If you are considering a hair transplant, IV therapy is not a requirement for it, and it does not replace the planning that happens in your consultation with Dr. Farhan Contractor, DO.

Risks and follow-up

As with any intravenous treatment, risks include bruising, irritation or infection at the site, and rarely allergic or other reactions. Your clinician will explain them before you consent and tell you what symptoms should prompt you to call.

After a first session you review how you felt and whether to continue. There is no obligation to purchase a package.

Preparing for your visit

Eat and drink normally beforehand, bring a list of your medications and supplements, and tell the team about allergies and any past reactions to infusions. If you have a medical condition, bring recent results or the name of your own physician if you would like us to be aware of them.

Wear something with sleeves that roll up easily. Most people use the time to read or rest. The team will check on you during the infusion, and you should tell them straight away if you feel unwell.

If you are planning a hair transplant, mention it so any scheduling can be considered sensibly. IV therapy is a separate wellness service, and it is never a condition of having a procedure.

Tell the clinician what you hope to change and ask how the proposed ingredients address that goal. Discuss possible reactions, alternatives such as oral hydration, and whether further evaluation would be more useful. If you have ongoing symptoms, do not use a wellness visit instead of assessment by your regular physician.
